Alpine, the legendary name in French performance cars, accelerates its transition toward electrification with the striking A390. Introduced in 2024 as the A390_β concept, the vehicle promised to retain 85% of its design in production—and from what we now see, Alpine has honored that pledge, particularly in the exterior styling.
The A390 boasts aerodynamic hood vents, distinctive split LED headlights, and can be equipped with 20 or 21-inch wheels. Flush front door handles and cleverly hidden rear handles in the C-pillars add elegance. Optional black roof, sharp body lines, and a C-pillar design that pays tribute to the classic A110, anchor the car to Alpine’s legacy.
Measuring 4,615 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, and 1,532 mm in height, the A390 stands as a stylish compact SUV with a 2,708 mm wheelbase. Its rear features a subtle spoiler under the glass and thin LED taillights connected by an illuminated Alpine badge. Side-mounted diffusers in the rear bumper help improve aerodynamic efficiency.
Inside, the cabin draws inspiration from Renault siblings, with the A290’s steering wheel and shift buttons making a return. Metal pedals and fixed-headrest Sabelt-branded sports seats underline the performance character. With a generous 532-liter boot, the car balances sportiness with everyday usability.
Mechanically, the A390 utilizes a tri-motor electric drivetrain, with one motor up front and two at the rear. The GT variant produces 400 hp and 650 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The more aggressive GTS delivers 470 hp and 808 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and topping out at 220 km/h.
Both variants come equipped with 89 kWh batteries, offering a WLTP range of up to 555 km. Charging capabilities include 11 kW AC and 190 kW DC options. Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the 13-speaker, 850-watt Devialet sound system. Tipping the scales at 2,121 kg, the A390 twins are also the first Alpine models to feature 6-piston brake calipers, signaling serious stopping power.
The A390 marks a bold evolution—merging Alpine’s sporting DNA with cutting-edge electric technology and refined design. It’s a car that looks back with respect while charging forward into a new era.
