The winners of the 2024 Red Dot Design Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious international awards, have been announced. Honda’s flagship concept model, the Saloon from the 0 Series, has won the ‘Red Dot: Best of the Best 2024’ award in the Design Concept category.
The Honda 0 Series, as the latest step in the brand’s global transition to electric vehicles, was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January 2024. The Saloon and Space-Hub concepts are designed with Honda’s principles of ‘Slim, Light, and Smart,’ which form the foundation of the company’s future electric vehicle development.
The Saloon, characterized by its low and wide design with a soft, rising transition line from front to back, emphasizes the vehicle’s flexibility and dynamism. The upright side windows create a wide lateral view, while the body form narrows towards the sills to accentuate the tires. The interior design features advanced user-friendly interfaces (UI) and human-machine interface (HMI) technologies.
The low body structure with sporty lines makes the Saloon model stand out, while also offering a surprisingly spacious and airy interior. It was also revealed at CES that the first model of the Honda 0 Series would be based on a sedan concept, with the Saloon-based series set to be launched in the United States in 2026, followed by other markets such as Japan and Europe.
