In the first semifinal, Aryna Sabalenka delivered a commanding performance against Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina. Controlling the match from start to finish, the Belarusian star showcased her powerful serve and aggressive baseline play to secure a straight-sets victory, winning 6-2, 6-3 in just 1 hour and 16 minutes.
With this win, Sabalenka reached her fourth consecutive Australian Open final. Having already claimed the title in 2023 and 2024, the world No. 1 will be aiming for her third Australian Open crown when she steps onto the court on Saturday.
The second semifinal featured a tightly contested battle between Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula. Rybakina took the opening set 6-3 before a tense second set unfolded. Despite missing three match points, the Kazakh player remained composed and closed out the match in the tie-break, winning the set 7-6.
This victory secured Rybakina’s place in her third career Grand Slam final. The 2022 Wimbledon champion will now look to claim one of the most significant wins of her career as she faces Sabalenka in Melbourne.
